Quiz and Exam Scores
Quiz and exam scores are saved on the VIASINC servers as part of the student's tracking information. Tracking shows the student's movement through the course and is organized into tiers of information as follows:
  • Tier 1: Tracking for Multiple Learners. Shows score averages, time used and course completion status. Accessed from the "Retrieve-->Tracking List" menu option.
  • Tier 2: Single Learner Course Tracking. List of modules accessed with access dates, frames completed and score when applicable (i.e. quiz or exam).
  • Tier 3: Single Learner Module Tracking. Information on access of a specific module.
  • Tier 4: Single Learner Quiz and Exam performance details.
There are two ways to view student quiz and exam scores: individually (per student) or for all students by module or date. To see the most detailed information, display tracking by individual student.
How to View Quiz and Exam Scores for a Single Learner
  1. Use the Login button at the top of any VIASINC webpage to log into the VIASINC environment with your Master/Admin account number and password.

  2. Click the "Launch Admin" button at the top of the webpage to launch the System Administration utility.

  3. In the black box at the top of the screen, click "+" next to the "Retrieve" file menu name, then select "Account List."

  4. The "Retrieve Account List Form" will appear. Enter the student's last name or login account number, then click "Submit." Or, leave those fields blank and fill in the other boxes as required to display a list of student accounts.

  5. A list of learner login accounts will display. Click on the student's name or account number to display their Account Record.

  6. Look for the "Options" area of the Account Record and click on the "Tracking" link. (All underlined words are links that can be clicked on to perform an action or display information.)

  7. A tracking list will appear which shows the modules the student has studied. A percent score for quizzes and exams will appear in the far right column. To the left of the score you'll see "Incomplete" or "Complete." A 0% score with "Incomplete" means the student accessed the first frame of the quiz, then exited without advancing to the questions. It is normal to see this. The system permits multiple attempts on quizzes and exams, and each attempt will be scored, whether or not the student completes all questions. To see score details, click the name of the quiz or exam module.

  8. When you click on the name of a quiz or exam, you will see Tier 3 Tracking details. This information is read as follows:

    • Attempted On: Date the student entered the module.
    • Frame In: The frame number on which the student entered the module. This will always be the number 1.
    • Frame Out: The frame number on which the student exited the module. A number 1 here means the student exited on the first frame. No questions were viewed or attempted. The first question of a quiz usually begins on Frame 2, 3, 4 or 5.
    • Questions Correct/Attempted/Possible: The first number is the number of questions the student answered correctly, the second number the number of questions the student answered and the last number is the total number of questions in the module. The numbers 3/5/15 would mean the student got 3 questions correct, but attempted only 5 out of 15 questions. The student exited the quiz after the fifth question.
    • Points Achieved/Attempted/Possible: When each question is worth one point, the numbers here will be the same as the numbers in the Questions Correct/Attempted/Possible column. When questions are worth more than one point, points distribution will be reflected here.
    • Elapsed Time: The number of hours (h) and minutes (m) spent in the module.
    • Remove Immediately: Click the "Remove" link in this column to permanently remove the quiz attempt and score from the student's tracking information.
  9. To see details for each quiz or exam attempt, click the "Attempted On" date. Tier 4 tracking will display, showing the student's answer to each question. (Randomized quizzes may not list questions in numerical order.)

  10. Use one of the "Redisplay" menu options to redisplay a higher level tracking display, or the student account list to view scores for another student. When you're finished, click the "Exit" link in the top-right corner of the System Administration page.
