System Administration
The Tracking Display format has changed. The display is now organized by module, instead of date. Each line corresponds to one module (lesson, exercise quiz, etc.) Modules are ordered by number and type; ordering does not correspond to when the student completed the module. For each module there is a number in the "Attempts" column that shows how many times the student entered the module. Scored modules (quizzes and exams) will show an average score and a highest score, taking into consideration each attempt at the quiz or exam. Click on the "Attempts" number to see the date and time the student entered the module and, for scored modules, details on the score.
Apollo Profiles
New lessons, drills, a quiz and an exercise on Profiles have been added to the end of the Apollo Comprehensive Course 1, as follows. The Course 1 Final Exam has been updated to include 4 questions on Profiles.
Apollo Comprehensive Course 1 (Package 2)
  • Lesson 24 - Displaying Profiles
  • Drill 24
  • Lesson 25 - Building PNRs from Profiles (Moving a Profile to a PNR)
  • Drill 25
  • Lesson 26 - Building Profiles
  • Drill 26
  • Exercise 8 - Creating PNRs from Profiles
  • Quiz 8
You may need to update your Apollo Courses to include these new modules. See How to Update Courses.
Apollo and Galileo Hotels
The Apollo and Galileo hotel functions have been updated in both the lessons and emulator.
  1. Lessons focus on the HOA (hotel availability) entries, instead of the HOI (hotel index) entries. Search qualifiers like the hotel chain code and location information are taught with HOA.
  2. The student works only with Inside Shopper or Inside Availability hotels. Virtually every hotel maintains some type of link to Apollo or Galileo, so the booking entries for non-link hotels have been removed.
Introduction to Apollo Workbook
Updates to the hotel functions and car databases have resulted in changes to the Introduction to Apollo Workbook as follows:
Lesson 11 (cars I)
  • Question 17: Ignore this question
  • Exercise I: Ignore the last question in the problem which asks you to update the display to show daily rates. This update entry is no longer valid in Apollo.
Lesson 12 (cars II)
  • Exercise 11: Change "a hotel on Crystal Lake Drive" to "the Royal Plaza Hotel." All questions in this problem should refer to the Royal Plaza Hotel
  • Exercise III: Use the CAI*PD entry to scroll down the display.
  • Exercise IV: Scroll down to Page 6 (and not page 3). Ignore the last question on Area C.
Changes in the use of the hotel functions require new pages for Chapters 13 and 14. Printable PDF of Workbook Chapters 13 and 14.
Sabre Ticket Exchanges
There is a new lesson on ticket exchanges in the Sabre Comprehensive (Package 2) Course 2. This is Course 2, Lesson 10. The student learns how to use Sabre's Refunds and Exchanges tool to process a full exchange with add collect, a partial exchange with add collect and a full refund.
You will need to modify your Sabre Comprehensive (Package 2) Courses to include this lesson. See How to Update Courses.
Sabre Red
Training on the Sabre Red Workspace has been added as Course 7 in the Sabre Comprehensive Course package (Package 2). The course consists of 8 lessons, with a short exam following each lesson (instead of a final exam at the end of the course.) The course takes approximately 4 hours to complete.
Sabre Red Course Outline
You will need to update your Sabre Courses to include this course. See How to Update Courses.
Sabre Atlas
A new section in Sabre Comprehensive Course 1 Lesson 1 (Part 11) covers the Sabre Atlas entries. Sabre Atlas will calculate distances between cities and/or airports and can be used to plan itineraries. Entries are available in the emulator for most cities and airports. Sabre Atlas Formats.
Sabre Hotels
The Sabre hotel lessons have been updated. Many changes are minor, but the HOT (hotel index) and HOD (hotel description) displays have changed to include more information on the hotel to match upgrades in Sabre. In particular, the hotel description (HOD) now includes room and rate information and can require 8-12 "move down" entries to reach the bottom. Students are taught now to navigate through these displays.
Amadeus City Encode/Decode
The Amadeus City Encode/Decode responses have been enhanced to include more non-airport locations. Many displays are now several pages long. See Introduction to Amadeus (Package 1) Lesson 1, Parts 5 and 6 or Comprehensive Amadeus (Package 2) Course 1, Lesson 2, Parts 1 and 2 for an explanation of the display.
